Elmer combineert provocatieve rauwheid, ontwapenende eerlijkheid en de kleurrijke wereld van stripboeken in een schaamteloze act die een langverwachte frisse wind doet waaien in de Nederlandse muziekscene. Ze (of hij, wat jij wil) is geïnspireerd door Peaches, Mr. Oizo en de Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, maakt dansbare tracks met electro-funk en italo disco. Elmer snijdt thema’s aan als bindingsangst, zelfhaat en de hypocrisie van de linkse mens, altijd in combinatie met humor, zelfspot en ranzige lyrics.

Elmer wil breken met de verwachtingen van hoe een (vrouwelijke) artiest zou moeten klinken en er uit zou moeten zien, en zo de Nederlandse muziekscene diverser maken.

Elmer is a Dutch rapper and artist who combines provocative rawness, disarming honesty and the colorful world of comics in an unapologetic act that brings a much needed breath of fresh air to the Dutch music scene. He (or she, whatever you feel like) is inspired by Peaches, Mr. Oizo and De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, mixes electronic funky beats and lyrics with humor and self reflection, and addresses topics such as fear of commitment, panic attacks and gender equality.

Elmer is here to break the mold of what a (female) artist should look and sound like. Come break it with us.
